How to Care For Your Swim
1. Always rinse your swimwear
Always rinse your swimsuit thoroughly after every wear. This simple action helps remove saltwater, chlorine, sand, sunscreen, and oils that can damage the fabric over time. Rinse your swimwear in cold, fresh water as soon as you can after leaving the pool or the ocean. Gently squeeze out excess water and avoid wringing or twisting the fabric, as this can cause stretching and misshaping.
2. Handle with care
Hand washing is the ideal way to preserve your swimwear's fabric, as it minimizes wear and tear. Use a mild detergent, and avoid using bleach, as it can weaken the fibers and cause colors to fade. If you must use a washing machine, place your swimwear in a mesh laundry bag and select the delicate or cold water cycle.
3. Avoid heat & excessive sunlight.
It may sound counter-intuitive, but excessive heat and prolonged exposure to sunlight can harm both the elasticity and the color of your swimwear. Avoid leaving your swimsuit in direct sunlight for extended periods, as this can lead to fading and weakening of the fabric. After washing, lay your swimwear flat to dry in the shade, avoiding hanging it to prevent stretching. Never use a dryer, as the high heat can damage the elastic fibers and cause the fabric to lose its shape.
4. Wear with care
Protect your swimwear from rough surfaces, like concrete and rough rocks, to prevent snags and tears. When you sit or lie down on harsh surfaces, consider using a towel or a beach mat to create a barrier.
